Replacing The Bottom Bracket On A Garage Door

Replacing the bottom bracket on a garage door. Remove the cables from the bottom brackets. Slide support out from the middle of the garage door. Detach the lifting cable from the bottom bracket. The door panel is still attached to the rest of the door so don t worry about it falling.
Replacing a bottom roller. Align the bracket with the holes it was removed from and reinstall the fasteners. Clopay s replacement bottom bracket is used to attached the cable and bottom roller on your garage door. Do not remove the nuts and disconnect the bottom mounting bracket from the door.
Hold the bottom section to keep it from falling. Now that you ve secured the door locate the thick lifting cable on either side of the door. Lower the section to the floor and lay the section on the ground. This bracket is made of steel.
Use pliers to pull the cable free from the bracket on the lowest door panel. When you remove the last bolt on the middle hinge the bottom section will no longer be held by the garage door. With the cable behind the roller and bracket install the bottom bracket on the garage door.
