Shed Roof Fascia Board
To make installation of the ladders easier tack a short piece of 2 4 to the fascia board end and a length of 2 4 extending off the top of the shed.
Shed roof fascia board. For 2 by 4 joists use 1 by 6 fascia for 2 by 6 joists use 1 by 8 lumber. Make vertical cuts into the fascia board between your roof rafters. It should also butt up against the bottom of the roof sheathing. Fascia or fascia boards are horizontal boards that run around the edge of the roof of a building fascia boards overhang the walls of the building and close the gap between the walls and the roof.

This board should be as long as the distance between rafters from the outside of one outside rafter to the outside of the other outside rafter. Fascia helps to prevent water and animal ingress into the roof and loft space as well as creating a more aesthetically pleasing appearance compared to open or rough ends of roof. Nail a 1 by 4 board across the face of the rafters with 2 3 4 inch galvanized nails.
