Sheet Metal Relief
For example if you make a partial flange as above using all the defaults the software makes relief cuts at the end of the bends as shown to the right.

Do one of the following. In the corner relief propertymanager under scope select the sheet metal body to which to apply the corner relief. Under corners click collect all corners to list all corners in the sheet metal body. Choose create relief in the sheet metal menu.
Click the create relief tool button on the sheet metal ribbon tab. Lets you select the sheet metal body to which the corner relief is applied. Select a hard edge bend face flange face or 3d solid entire model. Enter relief size by bend radius ratio or force bend reliefs.
When you apply a relief option to the selected corner the list shows the option applied. Though bend relief lengths and widths vary between projects they all share a common goal. When sheet metal makes a transition from a bend to a flat surface or to another bend it tends to rip and tear. You can add a corner relief to a single sheet metal body.
Type smreliefcreate in the command bar. To eliminate this a bend relief is added so the edge of the sheet metal is perpendicular to the bend. Click corner relief sheet metal toolbar or insert sheet metal corner relief.
