Repairing Rotted Wood Under Siding

There are 2 areas where the vinyl siding came loose and upon checking some of the exterior wood under the siding is rotten.

Step 2 cut the damaged portion of wood. After you ve removed the rotted wood and any paint you can apply a few coats of wood restorer to solidify any soft wood. Use the claw of a hammer to dig out rotted areas from your wood. Protect sound siding with a scrap piece of 1 4 in.
